Applications being accepted for University Center!

University Center@EA students enroll in Sonoma State University courses and earn college credits while still attending as juniors and seniors at Elsie Allen High School.  This is a college savings of over $20,000.00!  Students get exposure to college coursework before they graduate from high school.  University Center students have attended and graduated from Harvard, Stanford, MIT, and UC Berkeley, to name a few.  "This unique college credit earning and readiness program is the only one of its kind in Sonoma County."

Students must apply and be accepted into the University Center@EA.  Appllications for the 2018-2019 school year are due February 1, 2018. To schedule a Shadow Day for your 8th grader or for program information contact Jenny Fleischer at 707-975-1659.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we head back to school in a few days, here are some important resources:

School Enrollment

If your family is displaced because of the fires and needs to talk to someone about which school your children can attend, please contact our Student and Family Engagement (SAFE) office, for bilingual assistance. They can be reached at 707-528-5137 or email ysilva@srcs.k12.ca.us.

School Meals

During the first week back to school, school breakfast and lunch will be available to any student who needs a meal. Please let your school know if your circumstances have changed because of the fires. Meal applications are available on this webpage.

If your student lost a computer because of the fires, and the loss is not covered by your insurance, you may be eligible to get a replacement computer through the Volunteer Center. To find out, contact the Sonoma County Office of Education IT Helpdesk by emailing helpdesk@scoe.org or calling 707-524-8324.

Counseling Services

We will have extra counselors in place for returning students who may be dealing with stress and trauma after the fires. Meanwhile, if anyone in your family needs counseling, Magellan Health has opened a free, 24-hour counseling hotline for anyone who has been affected by the fires. You may call them at 1-800-327-7451.

Activities for Students

Our teachers have provided some resources and projects that your family might find helpful as you prepare your children to return to school:

Healing from Hardship: Projects & Writing - English
Healing from Hardship: Links and Resources for Parents - English

Healing from Hardship: Projects & Writing - Spanish Healing from Hardship: Resources - Spanish

The fires created an immediate crisis for our community, and I am proud of the way our staff and families have responded to the urgent needs, such as opening shelters at Elsie Allen High and Cook Middle schools, and working to collect donations and get them to families. Our staff has also been working around the clock to get schools reopened.

As we go through these next weeks and months, we will find countless ways in which this crisis will continue to affect us all. Thank you for your patience through this very difficult time. We will get through this together.

With warm regards,

Diann Kitamura Superintendent

Welcome Back!

Message from our Principal

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Dear EAHS Staff, Students, and Community,

As we prepare to reopen school Monday, October 30th, we do so with great compassion and full hearts for those affected by the wildfires.

Please join me in extending a helping hand to our LOBOS who lost their homes: Paul Fleischer, Sally Gonzalez, Jocelyn Farrelll, Kristie Coleman, and Fessahaie Goitom.   I know they can count on us to rally together to help them rebuild.

Many students throughout Santa Rosa have been displaced and may need to find a new schools  We will support them in this transition by making them feel welcome at Elsie Allen High School.

It will be challenging to find our "new normal", but I do know that the LOBO heart beats strong and we will band together in this journey.

With LOBO PRIDE,
Mary Gail Stablein,
Principal

9th Grade Compact for Success Assembly with Sonoma State University

CNA Students

CNA Students at SRJC

Unique to Elsie Allen High School is the partnership with Santa Rosa Junior College and our Certified Nursing Assistants program.  During the summer of 2017, nineteen Elsie Allen High School students participated and are now on their way to obtaining work in the healthcare industry.  Students spent 6 weeks learning through classroom instruction at EAHS, 2 weeks at a clinical hands-on lab at SRJC, and 2 weeks at assisted living facilities throughout Santa Rosa.  Our Foundation generously funded this rewarding and life-changing educational experience.  Thank you EAHS Foundation!
